NYX Interactive Takes Over NextGen

NYX Interactive, a Swedish software provider, has acquired NextGen Gaming. The merger’s objective is for both companies to work together to create one that will provide content-rich software. The client that will combine NYX’s bingo, casino and lottery software with NextGen’s innovative games that are featured through its land-based, online, mobile and social gaming distribution channels. Both NextGen and NYX will be able to offer customers a broad spectrum of services and products. The venture could immediately be able to offer more than 300 games to over 40 operators.

Rise in Demand for Online Gaming

The demand for online gaming has increased substantially since there is talk of legalization in various jurisdictions. Land-based casinos are beginning to supplement their incomes with online gaming ventures. The new company would be in a great position to take advantage of this growing demand.

According to a statement the group released, they will take a unified set of software standards which will enable rapid distribution and delivery of online gaming content. Changes within the Companies

The teams of senior executives of both NextGen and NYX will be combined into a single entity. The development section (games) will remain based in Sydney. The software operations and development will be based in Stockholm whereas the administration and marketing work will be based in London.

The CEO of NYX, David Flynn stated that the two organizations fit together perfectly. He said that their combined entity will be a stronger company and that the customers will reap the benefits of NextGen’s cutting-edge games studio which makes some of the industry’s most popular games. The co-founder of NYX, Staffan Lindgren, said that this was a strategic move, with the regulation of European markets taken into consideration. The aim of the merger is to offer the best software technology possible to operators of online gaming sites.
