Three Major Gambling Domains Offered for Sale

Casino.net, along with two other major .net gambling domains Poker.net and Sports.net, will be offered for sale, according to a recent report. The sale of these three domains will be conducted through Sedo, the leading marketplace for domains online. This, said Sedo, is a rare chance for operators to acquire the three leading domains in the real money online gambling industry.

Combination of active license important keywords

Sedo’s Dave Thomas stated that the domain’s active license and the combination of keyword domains make them ideal for any online gambling operator that wants to gain a foothold in the online gambling industry. Casino.net and Poker.net is currently licensed by the Lotteries and Gambling Authority (LGA) of Malta and uses software designed by Boss Media, which is owned by GTECH G2. The online casino skin for Casino.net is designed by Dot Net Gaming using the licenses from Boss Media. Sports.net is not live yet.

Bingo.net left out of the sale

The sale includes the option to include the Class 3 on 4 for license for Poker.net, Class 1 on 4 for Casino.net and to retain the Maltese operating business. Players from the US are not allowed to access either of the gambling sites. The one domain left out from the sale lot is Bingo.net, which is operated by Gamesys, owner of Jackpot Joy and is used as a portal through which to drive traffic to the firm’s free games on Facebook.

Biggest gambling domain sales

Sedo has gained note in the recent years for brokering some of the best online gambling domains. In February 2010, the site brokered poker.org to PokerCompany for $1 million, the largest sale of a .org domain so far. The company also sold Gambling to KAX media for $2.5 million in April 2011, a sale that had attracted a lot of speculation.

The biggest sale in recent times of an online gambling portal was that of Slots to the Bodog group of gambling sites for $5.5 million. This sale, however, was held by Moniker and Oversee.net and not by Sedo. This sale has earned itself a place in the list of the ten most expensive gambling domain sales to date.
