Isle of Man to Host a Second Gaming Conference this November

KPMG will host an online gaming conference again this year in the Isle of Man next month. The aim of the conference is to bring together various gambling and casino industry players together to talk about the capabilities of the Island in the world casino market.

Summit to be held in November

The summit will be held on November 22, 2011 at a hotel in Santon. The entry to the summit is strictly through invitation. In this conference, the gambling industry’s major decision makers and stake holders will debate whether the island is a safe haven for gambling and betting activities.

The decision to conduct the summit once again is owed to its success in the previous year. The conference’s morning session will address the general issues relating to the casino industry. Minutes from the past year’s discussions and the progress on implementation agenda will also be discussed. The talks will particularly center on regulations concerning Isle of Man casino operations and licenses.

The summit agenda and focus

The morning session at the meet will end with a group discussion amongst eminent panel members who will discuss the major industry trends. The Island’s gambling regulating bodies like Department of Economic Development and Gambling Supervision Commission will also give an update on the evolving industry environment.

The post lunch session will have dynamic industry leaders and speakers discussing the future of the gaming industry in the Isle of Man. They will address factors relating to the evolving preoccupations and responsibilities of real money online gaming professionals. The conference will include both local and off island panel speakers. There have been some big changes in the gaming industry since last year and big debates are expected in the summit on several issues facing the industry.

E-gaming Services Director at KPMG, Russian Kelly said that the online gaming sector is expanding rapidly and can be a key contributor to the economy of Manx. Kelly added that the Isle of Man is an attractive location for the operations of online gaming companies. He said that the momentum of this sector should be maintained and the governing bodies, service providers and key industry players should all collaborate in this direction.
